This is a great question. The Federal Government is pushing for more STEAM Learning curricula in all education to better develop and prepare children for the 21st century. You may have heard of STEM which has been promoted for school-aged children. Studies found that while STEM helped students be better prepared for their future, the critical process of creativity and innovation was missing. So Arts were added including Performing, Visual, and Creative arts programs. It is well documented that introducing children to music, storytelling, painting, and other arts at an early age can accelerate brain development and positively impact fine motor skills, coordination, memory, focus, discipline, and self-esteem. This is why we incorporate STEAM Learning into our curriculum and the parents love the results. We believe eventually more early learning facilities will follow our lead.
We insist on an interview with you because not everyone who applies at Leap Start is accepted. The interview gives us a chance to see if you are suited to our centre and its philosophy. Also, it gives you a chance to get a “feel” for what we do and make a judgement as to whether it is the right place for your child. Remember, the interview is a “no obligation” process and parents are usually very keen to book theirs as a normal part of their decision making process. PLEASE NOTE: interest in Leap Start has been very strong so you are urged to book your own appointment to avoid the disappointment of missing out.

We use a very stringent selection process before employing our staff. Yes, formal qualifications are important and all our staff exceed the minimum requirements as outlined in the National Quality Standards (NQS).
That said, we look for the right person that complements the team, not the most qualified. We firmly believe great people, with great qualifications are the key to quality staff.
We always seek ways to continuously improve the quality of education and care provided. As well as the standard health and safety procedure training and criminal background checks for all personnel, our staff program requires them to undertake regular in house training so you can be confident, when you drop your child off, they receive the best love and care money can buy.

At Leap Start Early Learning Child Care Southern River, we aim to provide children with the best education to enhance their early developmental years. Learning multiple languages at an early age can promote the neurodevelopment of critical brain networks responsible for facilitating language development, mathematics, and reading comprehension among many other benefits. We asked the parents their preferred languages they would like their children to learn and introduced the most popular choices into our curriculum. Plus, learning new languages gives the children the ability to communicate with other people in the community to further broaden their education.
