At Leap Start Early Learning Southern River, we firmly believe in the adage that it takes a village to raise a child. Our mission is to support families and the broader community, serving as the village that children need to thrive.
From the moment you enter our welcoming foyer, to our thoughtfully designed indoor spaces and expensive outdoor play areas, we provide a safe, secure, and respectful environment for all. We are committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity, celebrating the diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences of each child and family. It is this diversity that shapes the vibrant and nurturing atmosphere at Leap Start Southern River. We actively engage with families to celebrate cultural events, ensuring the centre feels like a home away from home for every child.
Our specialised learning programs, including dance, art, STEAM, and Australian Sign Language, are designed to enrich each child’s development and expand their learning experiences.
We maintain open and transparent communication with families through our Storypark app, providing daily updates on your child’s routine, photos, and progress, as well as weekly reports on specialist programs. Our open-door policy encourages families to visit the centre at anytime, where they can observe their child’s activities from the parents’ room window.
At Leap Start Southern River, we believe that every child has a voice. This is reflected in the individual learning journeys we document each month, which are shared with families to highlight milestones, new skills, and emerging interests.
Our orientation process is designed to foster strong relationships between families and educators, as well as help children begin forming connections with their peers. This personalised approach ensures that children feel settled and secure. As part of the settling process, we also introduce our centre pets, Quokka and Marshmallow, are two guinea pigs, whom the children actively care help care for, further enhancing their sense of belonging.
